Holidays Around the World
Make December fun and engaging by having your kindergarten students “travel” around the world to learn different holidays and cultures!
Here’s whatcha do:
Have students create their own suitcase and passport. I love to use cereal boxes and a pipe cleaner for the handle - it is the perfect amount of sturdiness to hold their journal and crafts
Assign every teacher on your team a country. Have students rotate every day to a different classroom to learn about the new holiday with their passport and suitcase.
At the new country, your students will get their passport stamped (included are avery label templates with the countries so teachers can “stamp” their passport quickly with a sticker.
Anchor charts, slideshows, journal, easy reader and a craft for the students to make at each classroom makes it fun and engaging! The slideshows are simple and to the point for your kindergarten friends!
Your students will remember this fun activity for the entire year! PS if you do not have enough teammates or not everyone is interested, you could have one teacher do two different holidays on two different days OR you can do all the holidays in your room. Happy holidays!
