Hi, I’m Amanda the founder of ThatKinderMama™

I'm on a mission to help teachers ditch the painful “go off and write” approach. To instead, focus on teaching writing slowly, in a developmentally appropriate way.

I believe in starting with the basics. Students need to develop fine motor skills and learn to draw using simple shapes before moving on to genre-specific writing. From there, we focus on labeling and turning those labels into complete sentences. By going slow at first, we build the foundation to go faster later.
