“My Kindergarten team all uses this writing curriculum and we love how it is developmentally appropriate and begins with directed drawings and then progresses to labeling and sentence writing. The lessons are so easy to follow and implement and we have see great results! “ - Alison T.

Hi, I’m Amanda the founder of ThatKinderMama™

I'm on a mission to help teachers ditch the painful “go off and write” approach. To instead, focus on teaching writing slowly, in a developmentally appropriate way.

I believe in starting with the basics. Students need to develop fine motor skills and learn to draw using simple shapes before moving on to genre-specific writing. From there, we focus on labeling and turning those labels into complete sentences. By going slow at first, we build the foundation to go faster later.
