Holidays Around the World In Kindergarten

Get ready to take your students on a trip around the world, no passport required!

Bring the magic of the season to life with my Holidays Around the World Unit: a hands-on, engaging way for students to explore how different cultures celebrate special holidays across the globe. With crafts, passports, journals, and real-world learning, it’s the perfect mix of festive and educational!

How It Works

Your classroom will transform into a global adventure!

Step 1: Make Your Suitcases!
Grab a cereal box or manila folder for each student, print the suitcase cover, and let them decorate! These become their “carry-ons” to store journals, passports, and all the fun crafts they’ll collect along the way.

Step 2: Create Passports!
Print, fold, and color. As students visit each country, they’ll glue in new stamps to show where they’ve “traveled.” By the end, their passports will be filled with memories from around the world!

Step 3: Build Journals!
Pick the countries you want to teach about, print the matching pages, and staple them together. Each journal includes writing, coloring, and reflection opportunities — perfect for documenting every stop on your trip!

Easy Teaching for Busy Teachers

No extra prep, no stress — just open, teach, and enjoy.
The included slides for each country feature real photos and kid-friendly text, making it easy to present and discuss each tradition. Everything you need to guide your students is right there for you!

Activities for Each Country

After you introduce each tradition, students can:
⭐ Complete a short journal page (trace the holiday name, color the flag, identify symbols, and write a fun fact).
⭐ Create a simple craft — like a kinara for Kwanzaa, a lantern for Chinese New Year, or a poinsettia for Christmas in Mexico!
Each of the 14 holidays includes one or more crafts and activities that make learning truly come alive.

Want a quieter option? Every holiday also includes a read-and-color mini book that’s great for centers or independent time.
